Father Ivan Raspolic started the first truffle hunting back in 1966 when truffle deposits in the Motovun Forest were untouched and in high yield.

The company GIR was founded 1994 when truffle farming in the family grew from a hobby into a business, in addition to production and processing truffles they added tours and education about Truffles on the farm.
